Tom’s articles, including six cover stories and two American Society of of Business Publishers and Editors (ASBPE) Azbee awards,  have appeared in more than 100 international and regional magazines and newspapers including Turf, Design-Build, Landscape Management, Lawn & Landscape, Garden Center, Minneapolis Star Tribune, Franchise Times and Minnesota Business.

He began his marketing communications career as a travel-related public relations specialist for destinations including Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan, America’s Heartland, Mississippi River Parkway, Barbados and Kenya capturing several Government Communicators awards.  He then went on to serve as editor of two regional high technology newspapers — Minneapolis’ Epicenter Business News and Boston’s 128 Technology News, Twin Cities’ StoresGalore! shopping guide and Conklin Companies’ Vision sales and marketing magazine.  He also co-authored two business directories for Dow Jones-Irwin, Doing Business in New York City and Doing Business in Chicago.

Currently residing in Akron, Ohio, Tom is VP-Membership for the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)-Cleveland/Akron Chapter and co-founder and Board member of Greater Akron Innovation Network for Sustainability (GAINS). He is a former member of Association of Business Publishers and Editors (ASBPE) and Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
